Students, teachers and parents of the DPFA primary school in Zwickau remembered Mehmet Kubaşık together today.

Mehmet Kubaşık would have been 59 years old today. However, he was murdered by the right-wing terrorist NSU in Dortmund on 4 April 2006. The core trio lived in Zwickau for several years. The memory of the NSU’s deeds and their terrible consequences for relatives and society are a reminder to us.

The DPFA primary school has sponsored Mehmet Kubaşık for many years. They are an excellent example of how a culture of remembrance can be practised at a young age. That’s why they came together to hang cranes – a symbol of peace – on the memorial tree near the swan pond.
