On April 25, 2025, FSV Zwickau celebrated the 75th anniversary of the first GDR soccer championship of its predecessor club ZSG Horch Zwickau in the Old Gasometer – and how! The ceremony began at 6 p.m. and marked the start of a festive weekend under the motto “Hurray! Zwickau is champion”.

Around 300 invited guests attended the ceremony, including former players, club legends, companions, club representatives, politicians, partners and the current FSV Zwickau team. Hosted by Matthias Bley and Christian Fritzsch, the 90-minute ceremony flew by. The program included greetings from old legends, a performance by the E5 curve choir, music by general music director Leo Siberski, readings and information about the 1950 championship. After the event, over 1,000 FSV supporters gathered for a “championship march” through the city centre, which led from the old gasometer to the main market. There, fans, players and club legends came together to celebrate the historic success of 1950.

The celebrations spanned the entire weekend and included various events, including a red and white pub night and the victorious anniversary match on Sunday.

We also say: HURRA – ZWICKAU IS CHAMPION!
