Yesterday, the third meeting of the Migration Network took place in the hall of the Gasometer Zwickau. Around 48 committed professionals, volunteers, and interested parties came together to learn about and discuss current challenges and the future of integration work in the district of Zwickau.
As in the spring, the theme tables formed the heart of the network meeting, where participants were able to engage in intensive discussions. The focus was on the following areas, among others, which are of crucial importance for integration work:
Protection of women and victims of domestic violence: How can those affected best be reached? Where can they turn, and how is access to the protection system for women with a migrant background ensured?
Counseling for perpetrators of domestic violence: How does counseling for perpetrators work? What methods are used, and how can the important concept of violence be successfully explained?
The future of integration work in 2025 and 2026 in the district of Zwickau: Which counseling centers will remain open next year? What are the biggest obstacles to integration for those affected, and what help do the many volunteers need from the full-time coordinators?
Intense and productive discussions took place at the tables. The valuable conversations once again demonstrated how important joint dialogue is for successful integration work and how cooperation between the various stakeholders can be further strengthened.
Anyone who would like to continue this important exchange will soon have the opportunity to do so: the next network meeting will take place on December 4, 2025.
