Last Wednesday, the first neighborhood meeting took place in the club room of the Neue Welt. From 6 to 8 p.m., committed residents met to discuss the future of their district. The goal was to find out what matters to the people of Pölbitz, what services are already available, and where there is still room for improvement.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and open from the start. The participants engaged in lively discussions about the strengths and weaknesses of their neighborhood. What makes Pölbitz special? Where is there untapped potential? Which previous projects could be revived? It was a very productive meeting, during which many ideas were gathered and opinions exchanged.

Coffee and cake for the 60+ generation and a mini Christmas market?

The meeting produced a concrete initial idea: planning a regular event for senior citizens. Many of those present agreed that there should be an opportunity for older people in Pölbitz to get together in a cozy setting. The result was the idea of a regular meeting over coffee and cake.
In addition to the plans for a senior citizens’ meeting, there were also very positive discussions about the idea of a mini Christmas market. The idea was very well received by all those present.

What happens next?

The first neighborhood meeting was a good start, showing how much commitment and passion there is in Pölbitz. The next neighborhood meeting will take place on October 23, again at 6 p.m. in the club room of the Neue Welt. This meeting will focus in particular on examining whether the idea of a mini Christmas market with joint participation is feasible.
