Baseball bat years – the 90s in Zwickau
You witnesses of the baseball bat years. Talk and write about the nineties and noughties. It’s about time.’ This was journalist Christian Bangel’s response in October 2019 to an interview with Hendrik Bolz, author of ‘Nullerjahre’ (The Noughties). Within the first ten days, there were almost 3,000 responses. Memories of everyday violence in the east of the republic. People from Zwickau and the surrounding region delve into the post-reunification period and tell stories that have been suppressed but still resonate in our city today.
